Access Control
Secure, easy-to-use entry systems for doors and gates.

Control access to your property
Access control gives you a simple way to decide who can enter a building, room or gate. We install systems for homes, offices and commercial sites, with the equipment and level of control matched to the property.
We can install new systems or add to an existing setup.
Common access control installations
- Door and gate access control
- Keypad, card and fob entry
- Paxton access systems
- Systems for homes, offices and shared buildings
- Fire and intruder alarm integration
- Exit buttons and emergency door releases
Choose how people use each entrance
- Keypads, cards and fobs
- Consider who uses each entrance and how you want them to gain access. We install keypad, card and fob options, including Paxton systems, and can discuss what suits the property.
- A single entrance or several
- Tell us which doors, rooms or gates need control and whether different people need different access. The number of users and entrances helps define the right arrangement.
- The existing door or gate
- Current locks, entry equipment, cabling and the way people enter and leave all affect the design. We assess what can be retained and discuss compatible equipment before agreeing the work.
Paxton fire & intruder alarm integration
We can integrate compatible Paxton systems with your fire alarm and existing intruder alarm. We check the equipment and agree the operation with you and your alarm maintainer.
- Fire alarm signal to a controller
- A suitable relay output from the fire alarm connects to a Paxton Net2 controller. Net2 Professional then sends unlock commands to the selected door controllers. This depends on the Net2 server running and controllers communicating with it, so independent emergency release arrangements are also needed.
- Direct release through a power relay
- An independent fire alarm interface relay can cut the power to suitable fail-open locks, releasing the relevant doors without relying on Net2 software or controller communications. The relay interrupts the lock power, rather than simply switching off the access controller.
- Intruder alarm integration
- With a compatible intruder alarm, Paxton Net2 can link access permissions to the alarm’s armed status. Authorised users can set or unset the alarm as part of the agreed entry and exit process, depending on the equipment and configuration.
We select the fire alarm interface around the door hardware and the building’s fire strategy, including the independent release arrangements required at each escape door.
Emergency exit buttons & safe escape
We install everyday exit buttons and dedicated emergency door-release units, including green break-glass units where required. A standard exit button relies on the controller; the emergency release provides an independent way to release suitable electric locks.
We design and install the agreed arrangements to meet the standards applicable to your site, including BS 7273-4 for fire alarm door-release interfaces where relevant. We work with your fire alarm maintainer and the person responsible for fire safety, taking account of the building’s fire risk assessment and escape requirements.
The agreed alarm interfaces and emergency releases are tested as part of commissioning, with their operation and ongoing testing requirements explained at handover.
Ideas for your property
For your home
A keypad or fob system could control a gate or shared entrance, with an intercom for visitors. We can discuss the arrangement around the household and other people who need access.
For your business
An office or shared building may need staff access at the main entrance and separate access to selected rooms. Visitor calls and CCTV can be considered alongside those everyday access needs.
From planning to handover
Agree the access requirements
We discuss the entrances, users, existing hardware and escape requirements. Where alarm integration is needed, we coordinate with your alarm maintainer before agreeing the equipment and quote.
Install and configure
We fit the agreed access equipment, cabling and door releases, then configure permissions and any compatible alarm interfaces included in the plan.
Test and hand over
We test normal access and the agreed alarm and emergency-release functions. We explain the controls, user permissions and testing arrangements for your system.
Common questions
Can you work with existing doors and gates?
We can install new access control or add to an existing setup. Tell us about the door or gate, current locks and any entry equipment so we can discuss what can be retained.
What types of entry system do you install?
Options include keypads, cards and fobs, including Paxton access systems. We can discuss the level of control you need and how people will use the entrance.
Do you work with offices and shared buildings?
Yes. We install access control for homes, offices and shared buildings. Let us know which entrances or rooms need controlled access and how many people will use them.
Can you connect Paxton to our existing alarms?
Yes, where the systems are compatible. Tell us which Paxton system and fire or intruder alarm you have. We’ll review the required operation with your alarm maintainer, including suitable independent door-release arrangements for escape routes.
